Who we are

We’re the Hughes Family - Nathan, Loren, Evelyn, Johnathan and Franklin. In 2023, we and Nathan’s parents sold our homes in Columbus to buy one home: our dream log cabin.

Soon after moving in we learned from our neighbor that the small shed on the property used to be a goat shed. We thought ‘how fun would it be to have a goat!’ Well, when Nathan traveled to Indiana to buy what I thought were two goats, he brought home three. And there it started…

While caring for animals is a great experience and good stewardship, we understand that our own health care is much more worthwhile. That’s why we are pasture raising our animals for meat, eggs, or milk for our consumption as well as growing organic fruits and vegetables. We have a long way to go to wholly sustain ourselves, but our mission is to eventually share this nutrient-rich and clean food with our friends and neighbors, extending God’s provision to others.
